And as much as people appreciate tokens like gift cards, days off or food, I have found that nothing tops a verbal message with kind words of encouragement, recognition and support. The personal touch that comes with face to face communication, eye contact and friendly interaction is something so easy to do and then very unfrequently done in many organizations.
